September 17-18th 2014
In September the Department of Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology hosted a IChemE-RSC joint Applied Catalysis subject groups conference aimed at early career researchers. This one-day event is a regular meeting which uniquely offers a platform for networking and in-depth discussion of current scientific developments in the areas of applied catalysis and reaction engineering. Senior invited speakers included Prof. Freek Kapteijn (TUDelft), Prof. David Cole-Hamilton (St Andrews University) and Dr Adeana Bishop (ExxonMobile). This year's competition winners were Matthew Darby (UCL) for the best poster and Michele Lynch (UCL) for the best lecture.
